The City of Shopping
Koblenz not only offers a true shopping experience, but strongly attracts more than 700,000 shoppers from its surrounding area and proves once again that Koblenz is the traditional ‘shopping metropolis’ of the entire region.
Where shopping becomes a day’s experience
One can truly experience Koblenz as a city of shopping in the Old Town quarter near the banks of the Moselle River. Original shops in the narrow lanes, small boutiques located in romantic areas and the comfy street cafés in front of the patrician houses makes Koblenz a rare shopping experience.
An especially appealing area to shop is the “Shopping Mile”, the Löhrstraße pedestrian zone with its speciality shops and department stores, and its direct connection to the ‘Löhr-Center” shopping mail, with its three floors accommodating attractive and unique shops, boutiques and special eateries – all under one roof.
Koblenz, a strong magnetic field of the region
The city at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers attracts a large region of inhabitants and possesses such elementary strengths as an above-average purchasing power, an excellently developed traffic and parking system and provides a very upmarket entertainment and cultural experience.
Whoever drives into Koblenz coming from the north can stop in either on the left or right side of the B9 where several shopping and ‘do-it-yourself’ hyperstores, large stores for goods and furniture and many of the brandnamed stores are located. The demanding and discriminating shopper can find whatever he/she needs.
Greater Koblenz includes and area, depending on the radius used, between 700,000 and 1 million inhabitants. These inhabitants of the adjacent towns and the surrounding areas are treated by the Rhine-Moselle city to a vast variety of shopping experience.
The well-balanced mix of old-established speciality shops in the city centre, attractive department stores as well as conveniently located shopping estates act as a magnet within the region.
To facilitate easily reachable and stress-free shopping, there are efficient regional traffic routes, 10,000 parking places and an efficient ‘Park and Ride’ system.
